Claire & Doug’s Awesomely Athletic Engagement Session
Meet Doug & Claire. Claire is a friend of ours from way back, so when she contacted us to shoot her wedding, we were thrilled! She & Doug are an amazing couple — fun-loving, incredibly positive, and all smiles and laughs 🙂
We started off their engagement session with a few photos at a beautiful covered bridge near their home in West Chester, PA.
Cool story: Claire is wearing her grandmother’s wedding ring as her engagement ring. Claire & Doug are both triathletes, so they spend a lot of time together training for events. When Doug proposed, he knew that she didn’t need another ring, so he bought her some amazing new racing gear for her bike & a beautiful Pandora bracelet. Each charm on her bracelet has a very personal meaning for her, including the one that tells their engagement story!
Since these two spend so much of their time training together, (they’ve even done Ironman competitions!), we had to include a little bit in their engagement shoot!
These two totally belong on a Wheaties box!
Claire and Doug, thanks for the awesome adventure! Stay tuned for their wedding at Mendenhall Inn next August!
M + E = AWESOME
I know I’ve mentioned this already, but we have been incredibly busy over the last few months & I am really excited to finally have the chance to blog about all of our adventures! Here’s an engagement session we shot in the fall — enjoy!
When we first met these two, we knew we were in for a good time. Brilliant, funny, and full of energy, they make each other laugh and their happiness is absolutely contagious. The two adore taking a break from their busy lives to wander the trails at Longwood Gardens, and this also happens to be the spot where E proposed! We lucked into an absolutely gorgeous Autumn day and could not have asked for a more beautiful backdrop to shoot their engagement photography. Check it out!
First of all, let’s talk about how awesome these two look! From the driver’s cap to the feathered earrings & riding boots, these guys are ready for their close-up! (Keep an eye out for this photo — E painted a miniature version of it to display at their wedding!)
I just love this shot. E always knows how to make M smile, and they are just so playful and cute!
Well hello there, Lumberjack!
And finally, a quick shot of the landscape and stunning sky. Days this gorgeous are such a gift!!
Thanks so much for a great shoot, guys! Stay tuned, blog readers — we’ll be posting their GORGEOUS winter wedding very soon!
Kristen & Erik’s Engagement Session
You may remember these two from Rob & Jamie’s ridiculously fun Key West wedding. Erik is the bride’s brother, and he & Kristen actually got engaged while they were in Florida for the wedding! We had a blast getting to know them that week, and when they asked us to be their wedding photographers, we were SO excited! These two are silly, sweet, and have some serious movie quoting abilities. What’s not to love??
1. Our couple is awesome.
2. The old steel mill is a huge part of the town’s history. It helped build the world’s first Ferris wheel for the 1893 Chicago World’s Fair and the Golden Gate Bridge!
3. This area was inside a paid admission festival, blocked by a carnival ride, fenced off, and in a “No Trespassing” area. Many, many thanks to all three levels of security who were kind enough to let us in for one great shot!
4. Our couple is awesome!
Kristen & Erik, thanks again for the amazing adventure in your gorgeous town. We can’t wait for your destination wedding in Puerto Rico next summer!
Meet Meghan & Keith, a sweet, fun military couple who have maintained an awesome relationship over many miles (they are often on opposite coasts!). You may remember their sunshine-filled motorcycle engagement session in Virginia Beach this spring. For their big day, we traveled up to the historic Joseph Ambler Inn & preppy-chic Pinecrest Country Club in Lansdale, PA.
Congratulations, Meghan & Keith!! Thanks so much for inviting us to be your wedding photographers — you definitely have a fantastic story!
Megan & Trey
Meet Megan & Trey! They’re a super cute couple who met at a friend’s house when Megan was sick with the flu. Trey made her some soup, thought she was cute, and the rest is history! (If a dude digs you when you’re sick, you KNOW he digs you!) She’s a nurse in Philadelphia, and he’s an IT guy at Dogfish Head, a craft brewery in Lewes. They spend their weekends going on “daters” around town, so we figured a little trip around Downtown Lewes would be a perfect spot for their engagement session. Check it out!
Trey has a way of making Megan smile and laugh…super cute!
Trey randomly adds Megan’s name to silly songs…here, he was singing “You’re So Vain” (Ouch!)
Thanks for having us out to shoot your engagement photos! Stay tuned for their wedding photography in Pennsylvania next October!
Hi guys, it’s Casey again. We had a pretty wild family photo experience last week. Julio Loor, of Loor Photography in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, was vacationing with his family down at Broadkill Beach in Delaware. They contacted us hoping for a fresh twist on classic photos in the sand, and we were incredibly excited to plan the shoot. It is always fun to photograph someone else in the field! After a lot of brainstorming and good times, we drove down for the photo shoot, and as soon as we pulled into the driveway, thunder started to rumble! What would normally be a relaxing portrait session with plenty of time to capture creative moments was now an adrenaline-pumped race against the clock (and Mother Nature!). Luckily, Julio and his family were total troopers, and we captured some pretty cool images in the fifteen minutes we had before the heavens opened up on us!
Julio, thank you so much for sharing your family with us and inviting us out to shoot your family photography session! We love your work and had a great time meeting you! See you next summer!
Are you a beach baby? Let’s shoot! Connect with us online, chat us up on Facebook, or call 302-270-2510 to set up your own Leafo Photo session for a fresh take on lifestyle, weddings, and editorial photography!
Hi guys! Casey here. We are super stoked to be writing this post because we can finally share some big news — Leafo Photo is being featured in a NATIONAL wedding magazine!!! Woohoo!!! Check out our story on pages 53-55 in the April 2010 edition of Destinations Travel Magazine. Several photographers from across the country were interviewed about modern wedding photography. We got to blab about all of the things we love about photo & how the game has changed since the days of our parents’ weddings. You’ll probably recognize a few of our shots in there, too. 🙂
A HUGE thank you goes out to the wonderful editors at Destinations — we are so stoked and eternally grateful that you chose us as one of your featured photographers in this year’s Destinations Weddings edition!!
Allentown, Pennsylvania is the setting for this love story. Lauren and Nick were married on a beautiful summer day. They chose a beautiful church, venue, and photography team! 😉
My mom has known Lauren’s mom since high school, so being close already, it was easy getting into a comfortable shooting environment right away. Nick and his family was awesome and inviting to our whole crew. Thank you all!
Casey, Bender, and Myself met them the night before for the rehearsal dinner, then shot the wedding the next day. It was a gorgeous day and ceremony, and they had the right group for a party! The best weddings end with people who are ready to celebrate, and this crowd brought their “A” game!
Thank you both so much for including Leafo Weddings in your big day. We were thrilled to be a part of the photography, but felt as welcome as guests. Grazi!
