Do you guys remember the amazing story about how Nick & Gina met at 30,000 feet?? Speaking of airplanes, time really “flew” by since we shot their engagement session this summer!
Nage catered — ridiculously delicious, as always!
You guys remember Kristen & Erik? Well, inspired by Rob & Jamie’s amazing Key West Wedding, (Jamie is Erik’s sister), these two decided to get hitched in Puerto Rico, a place that is very near & dear to Kristen’s family! Everyone traveled to beautiful San Juan and it was an amazing affair. 🙂
The entire event was beautiful, and took place at the San Juan Marriot. We had a chance to see the rehearsal and enjoy a beautiful dinner the night before with the whole group, a fun-loving bunch of close-knit peeps. We are in love with this family!! We actually started planning “destination birth” photos in France when future kiddos arrive. Just need to get Rob’s approval, haha!
As for our fantastic newlyweds, Kristen & Erik are an absolute blast, and their love for each other radiated throughout the entire trip!
An adorable mother-daughter smooch pre-ceremony 🙂
Kristen’s dad was so sweet when he first saw her all dressed up.
A sweet, beautiful family.
Did we mention how fun they are, too??
A little no-peeking first glance moment before the wedding — so cute!
Time to get hitched!!
Such a gorgeous couple!
Their outdoor reception sparkled under the stars — even after a mini-rainstorm!
Erik, Kristen, Higgins & Figueroa families — thank you all SO much for including us in your big event!! We have absolutely adored getting to know all of you, and look forward to hanging out again soon — photos or no photos! (Maybe we can bring some brews up to the tiki hut in PA!)
Leafo fans, meet Doug & Katie. Doug & Katie, welcome to the Internet. More importantly, welcome to your new life together!
Doug and I are old high school buddies, so when we touched base and were asked to shoot his wedding, Casey and I were STOKED! These two are great for each other, tons of fun, and always ready for a party. Great mix, right? Well, the wedding was a terrific set-up. It was on the beach, island themed, and they pretty much took over Lewes to make their wedding very much their own. One element that stood out was their pranking. Pretty much the entire bridal party got “iced” ALL DAY LONG. In case you aren’t familiar with the term, here is the official definition from Urban Dictionary:
(V). The act of drinking a Smirnoff Ice on one knee as fast as you can, following the presentation of the ‘ice’ in a clever manner.
Needless to say, it was a good time!
The girls got ready at the gorgeous Hotel Blue in Lewes.
Here he is! Doug dons his jacket for the beach wedding.
Aaaaand it starts!
The first icing of the day. Group effort on this one.
First the girls got the guys, then the guys pocketed the remaining bottles, and the onslaught of revenge was very, very present.
It was an absolutely gorgeous day for a beach wedding!
Just before the wedding reception, the girls noticed a fun play on Kate’s name. Like I said, fun group!
The sweets of the night tasted just as good as they looked, and the island theme was beautiful.
After the cake cutting, there were toasts. Naturally, the best man iced the groom. Doug is a trooper; he chugged it all gone!
Of course, the traditional Grandma/Groom dance. Back it up, Doug!
That dance floor was packed all night!
…and the guests partied HARD.
A highschool buddies toast. Fun to be a part of this. I know all of these guys! They’re all good people and truly a blast!
After the reception was over, the after party rocked on the main floor of Irish Eyes.
…and Katy got iced.
Doug, Katy: Thank you both so much for thinking of us to be a part of your big day. We had an absolute blast, and are honored to have been present and able to capture it. You ROCK!
Hey guys!! Guess what?? (Pause…) One of our weddings made the COVER of a NATIONAL MAGAZINE!!!! They did a huge feature & everything!
Remember Anna & Tai Jin? Here’s a link to their engagement session and the sneak peek we posted from their gorgeous Delaware beach wedding. Well, they submitted their wedding photography to the folks over at Stampington & they loved it so much that they made them the cover photo for Mingle magazine, featuring a six-page spread chock full of their Leafo wedding photos!!
Their wedding featured TONS of gorgeous handmade details, and we are so excited to share them with you!
An eclectic theme seamlessly combined elements from both of their backgrounds. Gorgeous handmade decor incorporated the ocean (where Anna’s family has spent many summers), while parasols, fish kites, and traditional delicacies offered a stylish nod to their shared loved for Chinese culture.
Pre-ceremony, we hit the boardwalk at Rehoboth Beach. The entire wedding party & many guests headed into Funland for bumper cars and carousel rides. Afterward, a friend dressed in full mariachi regalia serenaded them. They were slicing through crowds better than Moses parted the Red Sea!
It was an absolutely gorgeous day for a beach wedding!
Anna & Tai-Jin, thank you both SO much for submitting our photos & inviting us to be part of your fantastically unique, beautiful wedding day! Many thanks also go out to Anna’s mother, Andrea, for designing all of those gorgeous decorative details! You can check out her blog, Dangling Threads, for even more creative genius 🙂
Remember Anna & Tai-Jin’s adorable engagement session? Here’s a little sneak peek from their wedding 🙂
Stay tuned — we can’t wait to share all of the gorgeous details and hilarious antics from this California couple’s fantastic destination wedding in Rehoboth Beach, Delaware!
Tara + Michele
Animal lovers, adventurers, and all-around awesome women, Tara and Michele contacted us to shoot their laid-back beach wedding this summer. The first thing Michele mentioned when we started talking about wedding details were the “sweet ‘Life is Good’ beach towels” their guests would use as seating during the commitment ceremony.
You can immediately tell that our brides are a perfect match when you meet them — they even chose the same wedding dress (without planning it)! Definitely proof that they are operating on the same wavelength 🙂
Our couples know that we’re huge Jeep fans, and when we found out that Tara’s brand loyalty rivaled our own, we decided to bring down a little wedding gift for her: our new (to us) 1971 Jeep CJ5 & its maiden photo shoot! Tara was tickled to death! (A few days later, our little CJ5 also starred in our own anniversary shoot! Love that thing!)
Their first dance to David Gray’s “The One I Love”
An awesome father-daughter dance to Billy Joel’s “Lullabye.” Michele’s dad used to sing her to sleep with this song & always hoped he’d be able to dance to it at her wedding.
Tara danced with her dad to Rascall Flatts, “My Wish.” Before the song started, he got a little teary-eyed and gave this toast to Tara, “There isn’t a day in my life I haven’t been proud of this girl!”
Congratulations, Tara & Michele!! Thanks for inviting us to photograph your wedding day, and good luck with all of the wonderful adventures to come! (They just opened a new veterinary clinic in Baltimore, check it out!)
Linley & Spencer’s Gorgeous Sussex County Engagement Shoot
If these guys look familiar, it’s because they ARE! Linley is the soon-to-be sister-in-law (or should we say BLISTER-in-law??) of one of our recent couples, Allisa Booth & Justin “Blistertoe” Stoeckel, and she and Spencer (Allisa’s brother) were both in Justin & Allisa’s wedding this past May. Linley is the bridesmaid peeking out from behind the Batman mask in one of the Leafo Booth photos. Gorgeous & creative — I think she’ll fit right in with the Booth family! We were totally excited when they asked us to be their wedding photographers, and it has been a lot of fun getting to know them and planning out all of the details together for their wedding & engagement photography! We talked quite a bit about Linley & Spencer’s interests and bounced around so many fun ideas that it was hard to narrow them down. We ended up doing our own little mini-tour of Sussex County, and the day was a great success! Check it out!
Our first stop was down in Laurel, Delaware for some engagement photos at Trap Pond. Linley & Spencer spend most of their weekends on the water, so spending some time in a rowboat was a fitting, romantic twist on a favorite pastime.
Yes, we were singing “I’m On A Boat” the entire time. Never thought I’d be on a booooaaat.. 😉
Next stop, sunflowers! They are Linley’s favorite flora, and she’ll have them in abundance at their wedding this fall. Many thanks to her friends for letting us trample — I mean, delicately tiptoe — through their flower patch!
Last stop, Cape Henlopen for a sunset picnic in the sand.
Thanks so much for rocking your e-session, guys! We can’t wait to share all of the fun details from your vintage wine & sunflower wedding at Rehoboth Beach Yacht & Country Club this fall!!
